Class Duration: 2.5 hours

Class Description:

Dive into the artistry of advanced handmade greeting card making, focusing on techniques

such as die cutting, heat embossing, and folder embossing. This 2.5-hour class provides

students the unique opportunity to refine their crafting skills while creating intricate,

personalized greeting cards that leave a lasting impression.

Introduction

The class will start with a brief introduction, where students share their experience with

greeting card making and discuss a few of their favorite techniques.

Die Cutting Techniques

Students will learn about various die cutting techniques, focusing on using manual and

electronic die cutting machines. Detailed demonstrations will cover topics like positioning

dies, layering paper and creating die-cut shapes. By the end of this session, students will

understand how to create intricate die cuts and layered effects on their greeting cards.

Heat Embossing

The next section will delve into the world of heat embossing, covering aspects such as

stamping, applying embossing powder, and using a heat gun to achieve the desired effect.

With careful guidance, students will practice these steps to create their own heat-

embossed designs on cards.

Embossing with Embossing Folders

In the final technical segment of the class, students will learn about embossing using

embossing folders. This includes choosing the correct folder, correctly positioning the

paper, and using the embossing machine. With step-by-step guidance, students will create

richly textured embossed patterns on their greeting cards.

Card Assembly and Clean-up

In this concluding section, students will assemble a card using the techniques they learned

during the class. As students work, they'll have the chance to ask any lingering questions

and share their creations with the rest of the class. And then clean-up.
